POTD: Bic Black Ballpoint Pens

Since 1938 schools, offices and homes around the world have used the Ballpoint pen with the majority being made by BiC who first patented the device all those years ago. In the current economic climate we can't forget that cutting costs on everyday items musn't be overlooked. So take a look at the difference in price between some of the leading online stationery suppliers.

We've done a quick comparison on BiC Ballpoint pens, and some competitors and the cheapest price we could find is Integrated Office Supplies who are selling a Pack of 50 - White Box Pack of 50 Ball Point Pens for £1.20. That's only 0.2p per pen! As you can see below that's 74% cheaper than Euroffice and represents a saving of £11.61 (91%)when compared to the BiC Ballpoint originals.

POTD: Re-Move Notes Repositionable - Post-it Notes to you and me!

Who would have thought that the humble sticky note is over 30 years old. Today it's one of the best selling office products and universally loved and hated. 3M have managed to build an entire brand from what was originally an accidental invention and what must now surely be worth millions of pounds a year. Hey, they've even got their own youtube channel!

Fortunately for us the patent has expired and there's a wide range of other companies producing these at great prices. As Post-it is trade marked you'll need to search for "sticky notes" or "repositionable notes" at your favoured office stationery supplier.

We've done a quick comparison of branded and unbranded sticky notes 76x76mm (3 x 3 inch) and the cheapest price we could find was with Integrated Office Solutions who are selling a pack of 12 Q Connect Quick Notes at £1.56. That's only 13p per pad! As you can see below that's 72% cheaper than Euroffice and represents a saving of £6.93 (82%) when compared to the 3M Post-it originals.

5 Star (Spicers) - Product Code 296638 RRP £13.43

BOGOF on Selected Pens and Display Books @ryman

Ryman are offering buy one get cheapest free on selected Pens and Display books . I had a look at the first product on the list - Ryman Project Book 250 Page A5 Dividers Asssorted . This looks like an own brand Pukka Pad and the offer price looks good. I'm a big fan of these and in the office we've been using the Pukka Pads for years - ideal for note taking at meetings and just general use when I'm at the desk. In fact I'm hardly ever without it and am always referring back to see what I was doing at particular points in time.

There's no end date specified so if your interested I would get over there now.

Free £20 High Street Gift Voucher when you spend over £179 @euroffice

Euroffice are offering high street vouchers to the value of £20 when you spend over £179 this week. These can be claimed at M&S, HMV, Boots, Next and a host of other stores.

If your thinking of taking up this offer make sure you shop around first as there maybe better buys. If your thinking of buying small quantities of a range of items it might be worth checking out paperstone.co.uk as they have some very keen pricing at the moment but don't offer quantity discounts. Alternatively if your buying in bulk say a large quantity of copier paper - 10 + boxes then don't be afraid to ring up and haggle. There's plenty of competition around and they want your business.
